Why & How Men Disrespect Women Year-round & Glorify on 8-March?
Five Causes of Year-Round Disrespect Toward Women (Despite One Day of Praise)…
1. Selective Memory Syndrome (SMS)
Men forget their own words faster than a phone on 1% battery.
Examples:
- March 8: “Women are the backbone of society!” → March 9: “Why do you need a raise? Your husband earns well!”
- Praises mom for her sacrifices → But won’t lift his own plate after dinner.
- Calls women “goddesses” → But honks at one for not crossing the road fast enough.
2. Ego Bruise Reflex (EBR)
The male ego is more fragile than a house of cards in a hurricane.
Examples:
- Appreciates female CEOs → Until his wife asks him to wash the dishes.
- Claps for women’s empowerment → But panics when a woman overtakes him on the highway.
- Says “I respect independent women” → But insists on ordering for her at a restaurant.
3. Cultural Conditioning Disorder (CCD)
Generations of “Boys will be boys” turned into “Men will be hypocrites.”
Examples:
- Calls women “respected sisters” → But asks his sister to quit her job after marriage.
- Shares posts about strong women → But questions why his female colleague stays late at work.
- Worships goddesses in temples → But blames women for “inviting trouble” when harassed.
4. Fear of Losing Control (FLC)
Equality feels like oppression to those used to privilege.
Examples:
- “I fully support gender equality!” → But secretly panics when his wife earns more than him.
- “Women are just as capable as men!” → But votes against a female candidate because “she might be too emotional.”
- “Ladies first!” → Unless it’s for a promotion, leadership role, or splitting the bill.
5. The Festival Mentality (TFM)
Treats Women’s Day like Diwali—lights up for one day, then forgets until next year.
Examples:
- Buys flowers on March 8 → Forgets birthdays, anniversaries, and every other meaningful date.
- Writes “Women deserve respect” online → Laughs at sexist jokes offline.
- Calls himself a feminist → Only when trying to impress someone on a date.
Moral of the Story: Women don’t need one-day tributes—they need year-round respect, fair opportunities, and equal treatment. Until then, Women’s Day remains a grand show with no backstage reality.
